Gas Proving Systems

The Ventam 85 gas proving system AND gas interlock system provides TWO functions in ONE unit.
It is a gas interlock system that cuts off the supply of gas to appliances if the commercial kitchen ventilation system stops working.

And it is also a gas proving system is required if ANY gas appliance does not have flame devices fitted.

The Ventam 85 gas proving system is supplied with the gas proving valve to the size you require and also with either an extract fan pressure switch kit or a fan motor current monitor.

The gas proving system valve assembly includes main gas valve, weep bypass valve and gas proving pressure switch.

Commercial Ventilation Systems

What does a full system mean?

Full commercial ventilation systems are ventilation systems that require no more ventilation system work after we have left your site. It is common for a customer to misunderstand what they are being quoted. Check your quotation.

A full ventilation system for a kitchen that uses gas cooking appliances need to consists of;

• Commercial Kitchen Canopy also known as kitchen extractor hoods.
• Commercial Kitchen Extraction Fan 
• Fresh Air Supply Fan
• Gas Interlock System 
• Stainless steel wall cladding (if required).

This equipment is required to comply with current gas regulations, ventilation systems regulations and BS6173. 

You may also need equipment to take out cooking odour, smoke produced from cooking and fire suppression.

Gas Interlock Systems

Gas interlock systems are required in all commercial kitchens. Gas Safe regulations and BS6173 both require a gas interlock system to be fitted. This ensures that the commercial kitchen ventilation system is working before the gas is turned on. This prevents a build up of potentially poisonous gas combustion fumes in the kitchen which would be harmful to the health of kitchen staff and others within the premises. The gas interlock is an essential part of a commercial kitchen design. Don't forget it or it could delay your project.

If any gas appliances do not have Flame Failure Devices (FFD’s) fitted, then a gas proving system MUST also be fitted to interlock commercial kitchen ventilation system comply with regulations.
